Overview: The idea of Ameibo started in the spring of 2007 when four of the founders of successful digital marketing company Tradedoubler, came up with a unique concept. The vision was to combine the BitTorrent sharing technology and vast content of the illegal movie sites with an easy-to-use legal option. A user that buys a movie will earn money by sharing it to other Ameibo users. A concept that no other movie site in the world has, and a slap in the face of the illegal movie community.

Today, Ameibo has more than 20 000 customers in 150 countries with a rapidly increasing catalogue of more than 4 500 movies.

Ameibo's selection of movies are divided into two major sections. The Hollywood feature films, often copy-protected and available exclusively in Scandinavia. The DRM-free movies from a great variety of genres like Extreme Sports, Martial Arts, Documentaries, Live concerts, Nature and Wildlife, Animated, etc.

The Content Bay (in direct connection to Ameibo), aspires to be the major site independent film producers turn to for digital distribution. As the service has beneficial revenue sharing and requires no start-up fees, the Ameibo team are optimistic about the future of The Content Bay.
