The 2009 Mammoth Film Festival is comprised of four different film competitions.
Feature Film Tournament - accepts feature-length films in four categories: Documentary, Foreign, Drama, and Comedy/Musical. This is the main competition, and accepted films will compete for four Best in Category awards, as well as the overall Best Picture award.
Short Film Competition - accepts short films, up to 48 minutes in length, in any genre. Short films compete for the Best Short Film award.
Green Film Competition - accepts films of any length, provided the film fulfills one of two requirements: (1) the film covers an eco-related topic such as alternative energy, global warming, progress/problems with disease or food supply as related to the environment, etc.; or (2) the film was made in an environmentally conscious manner. The winning film will be awarded Best Green Film.
Extreme Sports Competition - accepts films of any length, covering any extreme sports topic. Topics could include, for example: adventure-style films on winter/summer extreme sports such as skiing, snowboarding, rockclimbing, biking, etc.; historical or educational films covering the origins of one or more extreme sports; biographical or social films profiling an athlete, or the general culture of a sport. The winning film will be awarded Best Extreme Sports Film.
Fee (USD): 35 - 75
In the Feature Film Tournament, awards are given to the winning feature film in each of the four genres (Documentary, Foreign, Drama, and Comedy/Musical), and the Festival’s grand prize, Best Picture, is awarded to the top overall feature film in the competition.
Short films will compete in a separate contest, and the winner will receive the Best Short Film award.
Green films will compete in a separate contest, and the winner will receive the Best Green Film award.
Extreme Sports films will compete in a separate contest, and the winner will receive the Best Extreme Sports Film award.
