Edit General Info

Festival Name: Reel Islington Screenings Film Festival

Category: Comedy, Music, Other, Shorts

Established: 2008

Location: London, United Kingdom

Overview: Reel Islington Screenings supports filmmaking in Islington and north London by inviting professional and amateur filmmakers to show their films, make new films and discuss their experiences.

One of the highlights of this year's programme is an afternoon of film at one of London's oldest cinemas, the Holloway Odeon, on Sunday 28th June. We start with short local films, Islington Reels, followed by Two-Minute Films, where you, the audience, will help our panel of industry professionals decide which three films win a £100 cash prize.

We are also screening the exhilarating Oscar-winning documentary Man On Wire which tells the incredible story of Philippe Petite's death defying tightrope walk between New York's Twin Towers. There will be a Q&A session with the film's producer, Simon Chinn, before we relocate to The Hideaway to watch our Independent Films selection.
