Born in Rome, Italy. Alessio moved to Glasgow with his Scottish mother at a very young age, and it was through his stepfather that he developed a love for film. He studied HND Film & Television Productions at Glasgow’s Metropolitan College only to dropout after a year. Alessio then worked closely with local bands as a tour photographer. In 2005, he took up a volunteer position in Thailand after the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami. Much of his photographs were published in newspapers, magazines and on the official aid website, hiphiphi.com.
During 2005 and 2006 Alessio lived in New Zealand’s film capital, Wellington. It was here that he rekindled his passion to become a accomplished film maker. He was involved in such productions as ‘KK2: Kongcrete Jungle’ (short) and ‘The Man Who Fell To Work,’ (short). He then shot ‘The Road to Ritual’ (documentary) in Los Angeles, California, before returning back to Scotland to become a trainee for the Glasgow Media Access Centre (GMAC), through which he found work on such productions as ‘Running in Traffic’ (feature) and various corporate advertisements.
In April 2009, Alessio complete his first short film, Swedish for Hello.
