Andrew is an award-winning director. He has written and directed several short films in addition to work in commercials. His graduation film 'Mermaids' won the Young Film-maker award at the Tyneside International Film Festival and 'Cafe au Lait' won a Royal Television Society award in 1994.
'Half a Shave' premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival in 1996 and was awarded a “Certificate of Merit” at the Chicago International Film Festival. It went on to win a Royal Television Society award and gained a theatrical release.
'Insomnia', starring Andy Serkis premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival in 1998 and was Kathy Burke’s “pick of the week” on Channel Four’s The Shooting Gallery. It was subsequently screened worldwide.
Andrew devised the visual format and directed the pilot for the popular sit-com 'Green Wing'. Channel Four subsequently commissioned two series which received the Pioneer Audience Award at the BAFTA TV Awards 2005.
Andrew directed two of the most watched episodes in the final series of the cult drama-comedy 'Life on Mars' starring John Simm and Philip Glenister. He directed David Morrissey and Lucy Cohu in the final episodes of 'Cape Wrath', Channel Four’s flagship high-concept thriller for 2007.
Andrew directed the feature-length television adaptation of David Almond’s 'Clay' for BBC 1 in 2007, and is currently shooting the flagship drama 'Survivors' for the BBC.
Andrew continues to develop several feature films, all of which have received substantial development finance as well as directing commercials for A Film Company.
