Born as an Auzzie and raised as a Brit, Lucy Izzard graduated from Kingston University in 2005, with a 1st in an Illustration/Animation degree. Her animation career burst into life at university, where she made her first film 'Balancing Acts,' a commission for Bloomberg (a short animation 45 seconds long). Her final graduation film, 'Tea Total,' won the BBC Three New Talent New Animation in 2005, which enabled her to work with Helen Nabarro (as her producer/mentor) at BBC Bristol Animation and make two more films along the same British theme, 'Come rain or shine' and 'One of the family.'
In 2006 she co-directed a music video for Coldcut, 'Just for the kick,' with two fellow animators Matt Latchford and Lucy Sullivan. They've formed an art collective together under the name 'Smuggling Peanuts.'
Lucy is also one of Slinky Pictures’ newer directors. With a background in illustration, Lucy not only designs and animates her films, she also records and edits the sound tracks, and in this case interviewing family and friends.
