Mark James is an award winning documentary and feature film director.
Mark studied fine art at Goldsmiths College and film production at the Royal College of Art Film School. He went on to direct a number of documentaries for television including 'Kentucky Teenage Vampires', a one hour special for Five about Rod Ferrell, a self-confessed vampire who killed his ex-girlfriend’s parents and is now on Florida’s death row. Mark has made over thirty other television documentaries including the controversial and highly influential 'Freeze' an 'Omnibus' for BBC 1 on Damien Hirst, a 50 minute drama-docu-horror.
Mark recently co-directed his first feature film 'Vampire Diary' – a stylish art-house horror shot as a visually compelling video diary. 'Vampire Diary' recently picked up 4 (of 8) Da Vinci awards at Milan International Film Festival 2008: Best Film, Best Editing, Best Actress, Best Cinematography.
Mark has written 'LUv U2 DeTHxXX' a dark thriller about sex and death which is currently in development with Mark Forstater Productions – and which he is due to direct. He is also developing a number of other feature projects including 'Rebirth' a sequel to 'Vampire Diary' written by Phil O’Shea and 'Ravaged' a horror-thriller about a canine cop, who becomes a Werewolf and makes an epic quest for his loved one, written by Mark.
