Born and raised in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, Nicholaus was a first-time feature director at the age of 26, making the cult-classic 'Grandma’s Boy' for 20th Century Fox.
His new film, 'The Shortcut', is a PG-13 thriller Executive Produced by Adam Sandler and distributed by Anchor Bay Entertainment.
He met Adam at 17 while working as a camera intern on 'The Wedding Singer'. They quickly became friends and he was hired by Happy Madison to create and maintain AdamSandler.com.
Nick shot a short film a week for the site, filmed behind-the-scenes footage, and took still photos on the set of all of the Sandler films including: '50 First Dates', 'Anger Management', 'The Longest Yard', 'Little Nicky', and 'Mr. Deeds'.
Nick’s first project to be distributed was the short 'A Day With The Meatball', which was screened before Sony/Columbia’s 'Eight Crazy Nights' during its theatrical release.
Recently Nick has directed a number of music videos for such artists as Mickey Avalon, Shwayze, Benji Madden (of 'Good Charolette'), Evidence, Dirt Nasty, Andre Legacy, Beardo, and of course Adam Sandler.
He has millions of hits on YouTube and has also created several 'immortal' shorts for 'Funny Or Die with Nick Swardson', the actor/writer whom he made 'Grandma’s Boy' with.
A strong desire to become as versatile as possible has led Nicholaus into the commercial world as well. So far he’s directed spots for MTV, T-Mobile, Comedy Central, and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
