A gorgeous and highly re-watchable music video.

Canadian folk artist Beth Moore has been recording beautiful songs since 2006. “So Far So Good” is one of her best tracks, showing off her strengths as both a songwriter and a vocalist.
It doesn’t hurt that the video for “So Far So Good” was shot by Adam Stephenson, the stylish filmmaker behind Rudolph and Cyberpunks. Stephenson undercranks the camera and for the most part keeps the color palette the same dark hue as Beth Moore’s hair. Jason Lupish, Stephenson’s partner at Open Concept Films, directed the video. They make the most of their two locations: a motel room and later a bar. There’s a painting of a cell phone on the wall in the motel room, communicating the song’s modern themes about relationships and connectivity. In the bar, confetti rains down on reveling hipsters. There’s something “sadly beautiful” about the whole video, though comparisons to the ‘80s rock band The Replacements end there.
Beth Moore likes to use her songs to tell stories, and the filmmakers complement this musical strategy. They stick to the story instead of going for abstract imagery. It’s about a girl losing a boy: “You won’t make me happy because you won’t change.” The filmmakers make the sadness of that line palpable. They’ve made a gorgeous and highly re-watchable music video.
