Royally fucked up.

David Lynch's greatest achievement can only be described as royally fucked up. Mind you it's still much more accessible then his earlier Eraserhead but still; the oddly placed symbolism, the contrast between the the corny music in the beginning and the startlingly serious tone later on and the grotesque surreality make Blue Velvet something special. Of course the main event here is Dennis Hopper playing a psychotic sex obsessed gangster who gets his kicks in very odd ways indeed. His portrayal is so picture perfect, that when he screams "Baby wants to fuck!!" you get creepo chills.
