The Media Arts minor program offers a uniquely integrated curriculum, centered in digital technology as a storytelling medium. The minor is meant to supplement the work of those undergraduate students whose major area of study can be enhanced through the application of Media Arts principles and technologies. The program consists of a total of 21 credits. 12 of those come from Media Arts courses in either digital filmmaking or integrated digital media and 9 come from a selected list of electives which must be approved by the Chair. The undergraduate program in the Media Arts Department offers a specialization in integrated digital media. Here students will maximize their artistic potential through the study of emerging digital technologies and their aesthetic application. They will be trained in the use of industry standard software programs such as Photoshop, After Effects, Flash, Soundtrack, and Dreamweaver and they will create integrated work in new mediums. In addition to the core curriculum, there are opportunities to be involved with credited special topics projects that include web site design, promotional trailers and a variety of collaborative art projects.
