Alicia J. Rose has been photographing fanciful humans for as long as she has been playing the accordion as Miss Murgatroid and promoting excellent music at Doug Fir Lounge and beyond. Born in Los Angeles, California, she migrated to San Francisco where she pulled quadruple duty, booking rock clubs, Djing on KUSF, playing the accordion and photographing her favorite bands. In 1999 she became curiously addicted to medium format photography and discovered the Hasselblad. Then she began professionally photographing her favorite humans both in-rock and out. Rose counts herself as a contemporary crossover photographer and passionately strives to bridge the gap between commercial and fine art photography.
